"The spoken word has a vibration. Anything in existence has a vibration. Water can be imprinted with these vibrations. Beautiful words have beautiful, clear vibrations. But negative words put out ugly, incoherent vibrations which do not form clusters. Language is not something artificial, but rather is something that exists naturally. I believe that language is created by nature." -Dr Emoto To the left, is a picture by Dr. Masaru Emoto, displaying what "Love" looks like in crystalline form. Dr. Emoto has found through his research the power of words. Positive words imprinted on containers of water, then frozen, make these gorgeous ice crystals. Conversely, ugly, negative words imprinted on containers of water when frozen create dark, muddled and irregular crystals.
WORDS HAVE POWER!
So even the act of speaking lovingly can change the how your body responds in different situations causing illness, or health.
Of course, since it’s Valentines Day, I got to thinking about the many different ways people give LOVE. And then my question became, how do you show self love?
Not just when you are doing well and are on some successful high… but when you are down. When you are lost or sad… When someone else is hurting and that pain, pains you. How do you work with that heaviness that starts to settle into your chest? What is a powerful way to relieve pain and show self love through sound?
Above, I mentioned one example of just speaking positively to yourself. This also goes for your inner thoughts. But what if you are needing something a little more powerful to pull up and through a difficult situation?
Toning "Ah” (as in Ma) is a powerful way to calm the nervous system to move through an emotion. It affects our emotional, mental, and physical bodies, as well as using it to go through the emotion and release it.
Here is a little bit about "Ah" and where it came from. Associated with the Heart Chakra– Anahata Keynote: F Frequency: 341. 3 Hz. Vowel: Ah Bija: Yam Element: Air Shabd Sound: Wind Energy: Compassion, Love
"The Heart is the seat of the Soul. The Anahata nurtures life lessons of love and compassion, self acceptance and confidence, hope and inspiration, and generosity. On the flip side, hate, fear, envy, anger and despair reflect an imbalance of the Heart Chakra. The purpose of the Anahata includes maintaining the connections and ties to those we love. Heart Chakra imbalance may be felt as difficult relationships, living through others, depending on others for your happiness, and a lack of self discipline. It is directly connected to the Astral layer of the aura. It is the bridge, or melting pot, between the lower/denser energies of our body Chakras, and the higher/lighter energies of the higher Chakras." -Chakra Healing Sounds
"The Heart Chakra is located in the heart. It concerns empathy, unconditional love, tolerance, compassion and forgiveness. The heart chakra, governs lessons of love and compassion, hope, self acceptance, inspiration, and generosity. An imbalance of the Heart Chakra can be felt as loss of self discipline, and difficult relationships." -Healing Sounds
A little History: "In these traditions, there are seven basic chakras, and they all exist within the subtle body, overlaying the physical body. Through modern physiology we can see that these seven chakras correspond exactly to the seven main nerve ganglia which emanate from the spinal column. There are minor chakras mentioned in the ancient texts, the soma chakra, located just above the third eye, and the Anandakanda lotus, which contains the Celestial Wishing Tree (Kalpataru) of the Heart Chakra, and other texts mention minor sub-levels to the major chakras." -Sacred Centers
Now to do!
Lay down or sit comfortably.
"Focus your attention on the fourth chakra, the heart chakra, located in the center of the chest. The vowel sound for this chakra is “AH” (as in the word ma).
“AH” is often a sound we make when we’re in love, and indeed, the heart chakra is the center associated with love. Begin to tone a soft and gentle “AH” sound. Continue to focus your attention on the fourth chakra and project your intention so that you visualize the sound vibrating this area. As you feel the vowel sound resonate here, experience this energy center becoming balanced and aligned through sacred sound. Make this “AH” sound seven times." -Giam
