::::The Right Fuel::::
I am currently sitting in a cafe in Santa Rosa CA, looking at the menu and thinking, "WOW! I can actually eat here!" This is something VERY exciting to me because of my gluten allergy. FOOD has been a powerful tool for me over the last 7 years.
Learning that ALL my health issues from a young age was due to a gluten allergy literally changed my life! It actually gave me a second chance at life! Learning about food, empowered me to take control of my Wellness story and change it!
Well, we have known for a while that “you are what you eat” is not just an expression.
The food we eat gives our bodies the "information" and materials they need to function properly. If we don't get the right information, our metabolic processes suffer and our health declines.
If we get too much food, or food that gives our bodies the wrong instructions, we can become overweight, undernourished, and at risk for the development of diseases or conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease
In short, what we eat is central to our health!
Now, there are a few more factors that come into play with our food. When Functional Medicine practitioners examine the role of nutrition in chronic disease, they look at multiple systems. They are looking at the digestive system, the immune system, and the detoxification system, because of the interconnections between those systems.
For example, because 80% of the immune system is contained in the gastrointestinal system, a person's issues with immunity could be related to faulty digestion.
First! Lets get you on track with your food. Due to everyone participating in Transformation 60, I will do my best to speak to what you have shared with me so far from the weekly check in assessments!
In the coming days, you will read about basic nutrition, the elimination diet, eating for your blood type, eating for weight loss, boosting your immune system, and how to use sound healing to help ease digestive issues.
In your journaling for this week, keep track of the food you eat and what time you are eating. For extra bonus, write about how you are feeling each day as well.
Example would be:
I felt strong all day.
I had a few emotional waves.
I felt lethargic.
I had a series of headaches.
