The Gadsden Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, Self-care Summer, will take place each Thursday in June at 5:30 PM. This series focuses on self-care and personal well-being, offering participants opportunities to relax, recharge, and learn practical strategies for living amore balanced life.
These programs are also part of the community-wide Gadsden Reads initiative. This year’s selection, Build the Life You Want: The Art andScience of Getting Happier by Arthur C. Brooks and Oprah Winfrey, will help inspire discussions and activities throughout the series.
June 4, 5:30-7 PM-Sound Bath- Kickoff the GPL Adult Summer Reading Program with a relaxing and restorative experience led by sound healer Danielle Hall, PhD. of SoundEmbrace. As part of this year’s focus on self-care, Dr. Hall brings her holistic approach to Gadsden through both the Summer Reading Program and Gadsden Reads 2026. Her work is centered on empowering individuals to achieve optimal wellness and to build lives they look forward to each day—offering transformative sound healing experiences and personalized guidance that nurture physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
