Sometimes I struggle with what to say to people about my work…

Sometimes I struggle with what to say to people about my work… It doesn’t feel as easy as someone saying “I am accountant” or “I am a Doctor” or “ I am a Pet therapist”. (Does that exist?)

I usually say that I help clients relieve stress and reduce pain through sound healing therapy. That works, right? Maybe, but it doesn’t really express the feeling, or depth of the work I do.  It’s so much more than that! After years in the industry, I think I am just now getting closer to those words.

I guide clients in finding a voice to their pain, their stress, and their unhappiness. In finding that voice, my clients are then able to empower themselves in making the change they want to see in their lives.

That’s what I do! That’s pretty cool!

If you are curious about what I do, or are going through something, lets chat! I may be able to help.  I may not.  But hey! It’s a free consultation, and we may have a few laughs.  If anything, at least you will know you are not alone on your wellness journey.

Click on SE Health and then Schedule a Session. Choose the Free 30 minute session. Lets FaceTime, Google Hangout, or come see me at my office in Cabbage Town!  Even if you are not local to Atlanta, there are ways that I may be able to support you.

I look forward to connecting with you soon!

Harvard Business Review recently did a study...

Harvard Business Review recently did a study where they told groups of colleagues to share embarrassing stories about themselves in the first 10 min of a brainstorming session and it proved to be increasing the creativity and flexibility in the workplace. Is the secret sauce in trying to impress less and just making space for a little vulnerability? ... here is something about me: I have a BIG THING about calves! It’s a deal breaker in dating! Really! I get all flustered and loose my words! Hahah! Share something embarrassing or funny below! I can’t wait to read it!

Can I get an YEEEES for SEX and MEDITATION!?!

Can I get an YEEEES for SEX and MEDITATION!?!

What do sex and meditation have in common?  Well, just like in meditation, sex generates more brain cells in the part of your brain (the hippocampus) that is responsible for information retention.  Well, research suggests that sex and meditation make you smarter!

Both support us in relieving stress, boosting memory, strengthening your immune system, and create feelings of deeper connectedness to your lover, and the people in your life. OOOHH gotta LOVE that oxytocin!

Before I knew what life was like in a healthy body, I had accepted what I thought at the time, was a FACT: I am not desirable.  I was low self-esteem pushing a smile!  On the rare occasion that I did feel pretty, I knew it wouldn’t be long before the bloat, the gas, the migraine, or feeling lethargic would come over me. Sexy right?!?! And when it came to SEX!  Well…

Fast forward to post diagnosis: NON GLUTEN Danielle.  Age 30, and feeling sexy for the first time in my life! For me, it was through awareness around how food affected my body, and through sound healing meditation was able to empower myself to make changes. Sound Healing transformed the cocktail of hormones I had been drinking for the first 30 years of my life! Now, feeling sexy is not something that’s foreign to me. And sex?  Well… 😉

Comparatively, there is an increase in the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of knocking boots or adopting a regular mediation practice!  I say, WHY NOT DO BOTH! Just think how much better the world would be!  YEEEES!!!

Working with grief :

Working with grief : Growing up as a military kid, I didn’t have the opportunity to get to know my extended family. We moved every 2-3 years so the people closest to me were my parents, and siblings. As a kid that moves around a lot, you learn to adapt and make friends knowing that, that connection may be short... and all the more reason to cherish it and love that person as hard as you can! At least that was what my experience was of it... My Grandpa Chuck passed away a few days ago... and I am just now feeling (or just now allowing myself to feel) the sadness. And I am noticing that it is a different type of sadness. When my other grandparents passed on, the sadness was of not having the opportunity to really get to know them. But with Grandpa Chuck, I had that opportunity when I moved to SF in 2004, and I am experiencing the grief differently. How do you deal with grief? Well, day by day... minute by minute. Right now, I am working with grief to celebrate Grandpa Chuck and the impact he had on my life. I made space for it. I made some coffee. Drinking it out of a mug he bought me. I’m sitting here writing this, and looking out the window allowing my heart to be open and express itself how it needs. Feeling grateful to have known him, and grateful for having the opportunity to love hard, knowing it was received, and to feel that love in return.

I believe in all of these things! ESPECIALLY the kissing!

I believe in all of these things! ESPECIALLY the kissing! 😍

I hear your testimonials on how my sound bath sessions make you feel after the session but I often wonder about the days that follow… how you are taking these experiences into your day to day? Do you feel better? What changes have you made? Has your perception around a situation changed? What are you doing about it?

When it really comes down to it, I’m not JUST dinging bowls and banging a gong, I am facilitating an opportunity for you to relieve stress and the chronic symptoms it creates, as well as have more awareness around why you have the stress or ailment in the first place. It’s THIS awareness that allows you the OPPORTUNITY to CHOOSE to make change in your life. And I BELIEVE you can. I BELIEVE you can live a life you love waking up to everyday. Do YOU believe you can, too? Photo by The Real Diamonde.

My interest in the mind-body-spirit connection didn’t occur over night.

My interest in the mind-body-spirit connection didn’t occur over night. It was through my own health journey that I was motivated to seek out answers to the chronic symptoms I was experiencing. Through this search, I have discovered a power I didn’t know I had to under go radical transformation.

Your health, business, or relationship goals are not going to fit in a “one size fits all” package or program. And here’s another thing, the starting line isn’t revealed until you can be real with yourself and take personal responsibility for your actions... or in-action. So, take action. Come to one of my sound baths this month. (the next one is THIS Wednesday the 7th) You don’t have to live in pain. The answers you are seeking are within. So stop reaching outside of yourself. Slow down with me this month, for 1 hour. See you soon!

<3 Danielle

We have been conditioned to seek answers outside of ourselves...

We have been conditioned to seek answers outside of ourselves... the result is high stress, chronic sickness, feeling of being lost, lonely, and disconnected. Sound and vibration has the ability to support you in gaining awareness of the truth that lies with in. That the answers were always there to begin with. A sound bath, offers the opportunity to embody that truth so you feel empowered to make the change you want to see in your life. ATL, we are already half full for Wednesday, Feb 7th Sound Bath at The Center! Sign up with the link in the bio. I’m here to support you on your journey. ❤️

ATL looking sharp, joyfully danced right up to NY with open arms, and with the biggest hug expressed “This is how we love.”

ATL looking sharp, joyfully danced right up to NY with open arms, and with the biggest hug expressed “This is how we love.” ATL represent! Last week was incredible, and mostly due to this group right here. What I loved most about Grammy week was the common thread of appreciation for those who have supported making a dream a reality. From a party to celebrate producers and engineers, warm hearted conversations at the Nominee’s, to the acceptance speeches, you could feel wave after wave of emotion of that. When dreams become a reality it’s not just about your own hard work, it’s also because of the minds and hands who have helped along the way! What a powerful tool music is to bring people together, to change mood and perspective, a powerful tool for healing and transformation! Having all the feels over here! (Pic from Matt Still)

“We often leave our homes to learn more in order to return home and make it better.”

“We often leave our homes to learn more in order to return home and make it better.” I had no idea when I moved to SF that this is what I would be doing. I call Atlanta home. Growing up a military brat, moving every 2-3 years, you learn to adapt pretty quickly to making new friends and figuring out social circles. You also learn to make HOME wherever you go. But when I moved to Atlanta in 2000 for college, I felt a sense of HOME I hadn’t felt before. I felt a pride for the city, enveloped in this loving, nurturing community. One thing I think is so RAD is that I am collaborating with all Atlanta talent in making this Sound Healing app! Bringing HOME what I have learned and working with the heart of what makes Atlanta so great, it’s people! I can’t wait for this app to launch in March! Though it will be something anyone in the the world can use, I am excited for the support it will offer my HOME community. Now... Atlanta, can you please pull yourself together? The snow has melted... I need my packages! Haha! Love you boo! Photo credit Brooklynn Music

I wasn’t going to go home for Christmas this year.

I wasn’t going to go home for Christmas this year. I was feeling overwhelmed, and really just wanted to spend a day by myself doing absolutely nothing. Haha! But when my sister said she was going I felt like I needed to because it’s rare for my siblings and I to be under the same roof. I am so glad I did! It was something I didn’t know I needed and brought new perspective to some things I have been navigating through.
I got to get a lot off my chest… some things about the app that I haven’t shared with any one yet, as well as my goals for what I want to bring in to 2018. I got to share about what has been going on in my dating life, my friendships, and how we can have more of THIS! THIS family time… being able to be so open and honest in sharing thoughts and feelings with the occasional TRUTH SLAP to wake you up out of a spiral you didn’t even know you were in! Haha! I don’t usually need Christmas as an excuse to see or appreciate my family, but I am having ALL THE FEELS today. I wish you and your loved ones the Happiest of Holidays with lots of LOVING truth slaps that kick you into gear and on path! Thank you for all the love! You are the best!

Evening Cup Introspection: Lemon Tea

Evening Cup Introspection: Lemon Tea

December 19th/ 9:55pm/ Atlanta, GA.

Today was an OFF day.  I woke up feeling exhausted with a little bit of brain fog but had an appointment at The Training Room ATL so I rolled myself out of bed and into my sneakers.
I was determined to have a productive day!  I forced some happy energy and walked into the building to get started.

Not even 30 seconds into the rower I started to feel dizzy.  I slowed down and it went away.  Went into the next thing. There it was again!  The dizziness and a few black spots.  I finished, caught my breath and then went on to the next. Barely 3 tries and I felt like I was going to pass out.

Amber Goppert ended the session, and sent me home for a loooonng nap.

Exercise, can tell you a lot about where you are in your health. For me, it was telling me that I was exhausted and dehydrated, but was too darn stubborn to listen to my body. So what did my body do? It acted out and made me stop! It was also reminding me that a "Go, go, go" lifestyle is NOT sustainable and that I need to slow my roll!
While regular exercise is one of the pillars of healthy living, it is an epigenetic factor that can harm or elevate your wellness story!

Exercise improves cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure, helps control body weight, and protects against a variety of diseases.  Just like a healthy diet, exercise can contribute to general good health and to a healthy immune system. It also contributes by promoting good circulation, which allows the cells and substances of the immune system to move through the body freely and do their job efficiently.
But if you do too much, push yourself beyond what is healthy for YOUR body, it can cause unnecessary stress that can lower your immune system. Or, like in my case, not allow me to push any more until I got some the rest! I know we are in the “busy” season, but slow down, listen to your body. Its REALLY smart and is telling you what it needs ALL TIME!

Morning Cup Introspection: Almond Milk Chai Latte

Morning Cup Introspection: Almond Milk Chai Latte

December 14th / 11:12am/ San Francisco, CA.

Aw man! Slowing down is tough this week. Frankly, I am resisting it but I know it will do me some good. I am in the Bay Area for 7 days with 5 back-to-back sound baths, which means I have to sleep a little more than usual, drive a little more than usual, and pack in a little more computer work than usual. Taking this little bit of time to slow down is bringing to attention the fact that I would not be able to do what I am doing without the support of some really amazing people. Without Amanda Hibbert , I wouldn’t have a car to borrow, Dominic takes care of my Bay Area set of instruments, and I bounce back and forth between Carmen, Dominic, Amanda, and Emily’s spare bedrooms or couches. There are places I have found, like this coffee shop, that have reliable Internet, good caffeine (haha!) and GF food options, and most importantly, ALWAYS has a seat for me! Although I am feeling the rush to keep moving, its nice to take a minute to feel the support that is all around me. OK… I have 3 more sound baths to go! Join me if you’d like! Tonight is a private gathering for Soulstice Sisterhood with Ashley Burnett , tomorrow Restorative Yoga + Sound Bath with Lorraine Perez, and Sunday Rest and Reset! More later! Gotta go!

If you know me, you know that I laugh A LOT.

If you know me, you know that I laugh A LOT. And… pretty loud at that!!! But there is just something about snow that makes me giggle uncontrollably and smile like nothing else! There is this sense of peace and calm about it…everything goes still and silent. Reflecting inward. There is simply this feeling of MAGIC! Then, as if transported back to childhood, I suddenly realize I am looking at the world in a new way! With lightness! Carefree! And overwhelmingly filled with so much love! FILLED WITH MAGIC! In writing this I had the thought of, “When did I loose that sense of magic?” But quickly realized that I’ve never lost it! I just haven’t slowed down enough to allow myself to feel it on a day-to-day basis! Or even acknowledge the MAGIC I CREATE!Tomorrow I leave for San Francisco for 7 days. 5 of those days I get to collaborate with some really amazing women! Tuesday the 12th is with  Ashley Burnett where we are creating a beautiful Winter Solstice evening retreat! Wednesday is with Misty and Katy Jercich from StudioMix SF, where you will experience a relaxing sound bath! Thursday is a private event for SOULstice Sisterhood!, Friday and Sunday, a soothing, yet restorative yoga + sound bath with Lorraine Perez. I hope to see you at one of these gatherings. We get to choose to create or allow magic in our lives. Come laugh with me! I have hugs for everyone! Allow magic in.

Tonight is the last Full Moon of 2017 and it’s a Supermoon!

Tonight is the last Full Moon of 2017 and it’s a Supermoon!
It is a perfect time to check in with your body and ask yourself:
How are you feeling?
How are things unfolding?
What is stirring in you?
What are you learning?
See if you can tune in to the intelligence of your body, feeling into the answers, rather than let your mind answer.
We live in a world of contrasts: day or night, heat or cold, love or loneliness, health or illness, wealth or poverty, pleasure or pain, war or peace, and so on... These contrast’s can leave us confused with spiraling out thoughts about what we SHOULD do or COULD do, but HAVEN’T done, or DON’T do. “Feeling in” gives you an opportunity to connect to a Oneness within oneself. Allowing awareness’s and truth to arise so you can then choose to empower yourself to be proactive in making change and outgrow how these extreme contrasts effect you.
Today, look up at the moon. Feel in, to your body. Connect to the Oneness within oneself. The Supermoon energy will be potent all week. My sound bath on Thursday the 7th is great way to connect deeper with this energy. What’s coming up for you? Let’s talk about it! See you in a few days Atlanta!

We just entered the second week of Transformation 60!

We just entered the second week of Transformation 60! This week we are exploring how our thoughts effect our physiology.

It wasn’t that long ago that I had a serious run in with how my thoughts manifested into an issue with my heart. I held a lot of anger and resentment around betrayal. I didn’t talk about what happened. I didn’t deal with the emotions. I had a lot of internal dialog that kept me spinning in negative thoughts.
This manifested as inflammation in the arteries of my heart, causing difficulty breathing, tightening of my chest, and frequent dizzy spells. My cardiologist said that from all the tests he had done, there was no reason I should have this problem.
I was reminded about how thoughts can effect our physiology and THEN realized the internal conversation I was having over the betrayal! Once aware, I took action! I started to talk about what had happened. Started shifting the conversation in my head to be more productive. And finally had the ugly cry. Within a week, my symptoms went away.
You have more control over your wellness story than you think! Your thoughts, outlook, and perspective are just a few factors you can check in with to shift the disease you are experiencing. If you would like to know more about how epigenetic factors and sound healing play a role in transforming your health sign up with the link in my bio. You can still have access to the content. FYI!! The sound healing app comes out in Feb and works with both epigenetic factors and sound healing! Xo!

Morning Cup Introspection/ English Breakfast / Nov 28th / 7:01am/ Atlanta, Ga.

Morning Cup Introspection/ English Breakfast / Nov 28th / 7:01am/ Atlanta, Ga. //

There is the tendency to write about the things that are going well. And.. there are a lot of things going really well! Those are the easy ‘shares’. But these introspection’s are also a way for me to share the frustrating aspects that come into play when running a wellness business, sharing about Sound Healing and events, as well Soundembrace being a real person (ME) who actually lives what she preaches! And btw, not at all perfect.

Like right now. I’m really frustrated. And have been frustrated for about a week. Last night I tossed and turned, wrestling with thoughts that came up from every part of my life. At some point I finally passed out, but journaling about it this morning I realized that there are a few things I had given my power away on and what I’m left with is waiting, wanting, disappointment, a little insecurity, and restlessness.

The more you do your inner work, the faster you can work through moments like this. You identify them quicker. You start to notice the physical manifestations that are wanting to act out. I knew there was something up when my head was flooded with “random” thoughts last night. After sitting with it, I knew what I needed to do and can now take action. I would love to hear your introspection stories! This is a great practice for self reflection and growth. You may be surprised what comes up!
